It’s still worth giving it a shot and there is always the possibility that this resolves your problem. Most typically, when the iDrive fuse has blown, there will either be a short somewhere in the wiring or the iDrive unit itself has a failure. Please be aware though that fuses very seldomly blow on their own. If you find that the iDrive fuse is blown, swap it out and see if that rectifies the problem.
